Developed in 1936. Lightning black powder is noted for its coal black hue and its property of adhering to the latent print, but not the background surface. Black powder is recommended for most general dusting situations while the silver/gray is recommended for use on all glass, metallic, highly-varnished, hard rubber, safes, blue-steel guns, or dark colored surfaces.
